Slovakia— Tattoo scenes & cities

On 31 August 2014, Ivana Šišková (Noviny.sk) reported on a tattoo festival in Bratislava attended, she wrote, by the biggest Czech and Slovak stars of the trade. Tattoo artist Samuel Potúček says women probably prefer flowers; according to the article, men tend to seek more demanding designs carrying symbols. An unnamed tattoo artist says the prejudice that only "petrol-station robbers" get tattooed is gone, and the article notes growing interest.

On 12 May 2020, Andrea Miková (Noviny.sk / TV JOJ) reported that Slovak tattoo studios were still closed while cosmetic salons, allowed to offer permanent make-up, had reopened. Tattoo artists drafted a petition and an open letter to the Prime Minister. Studio owner Peter "SIDI" said there is "practically no relevant reason" to keep them closed; the article gives no signature count and no government response.
